Oishi-San is well known for reinterpreting American workwear staples through his Japanese dystopian lens. He has designed a drop-needle coverall inspired by a type of workwear garment popular in the mid-20th century. These coveralls were typically made from durable fabrics like cotton or denim and were designed to be worn over clothing to protect it from dirt, grease, and other work-related debris.
The term "drop needle" refers to a specific type of knit used in the 12oz denim fabric of the coverall. This knit creates small, regularly spaced holes in the material, allowing air to flow through and helping to keep the wearer cool and comfortable.
This beautifully crafted piece is designed for work, featuring plenty of pockets and durable construction, while being understated enough to add depth to anything from a hoodie to a tee. It includes one inner and one outer breast pocket, as well as two handwarmer pockets at the waist.
Fit Notes: Despite being a Japanese coverall, we find the sizing of this coverall to be more Western than Japanese. If you usually wear a size M in American jackets, you'll find a suitable fit with this jacket in size 40 M. However, as always, we recommend consulting our size chart for the perfect fit. It is unsanforized but one washed, so there will be no shrinkage.
